The Mount Vernon City School District is seeking interested applicants to fill a vacancy for a Provisional Payroll Specialist with the Accounting Department. The Payroll Specialist will undertake ALL elements of payroll, from inputting data, processing, providing payroll related advice, guidance and support to employees and managers. Additionally, when required, the Payroll Specialist will supervise and train payroll and clerical staff in automated PR procedures and systems; MUST have great knowledge of the principles, procedures and terminology involved in payroll administration; Good knowledge of NVision Payroll Systems and proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. MUST have excellent mathematical and analytical knowledge and the ability to choose the correct mathematical methods/formulas to solve a problem. The ideal applicant MUST successfully pass the Civil Service Exam for the title, Payroll Specialist and be reachable on the certified eligible list to retain the position.
