The Mount Vernon City School District is seeking interested applicants to fill a vacancy for the Director of Technology. The Director of Technology is a key member of the Management Team and plans, directs, manages, evaluates, and oversees instructional and administrative/management technology programs and initiatives. The Director works collaboratively with school and administrative leadership to provide strategic and tactical direction to ensure that technology aligns to support teaching and learning, leads and evaluates the performance of teams responsible for application development and support, network and server operations, data and communications, computer services and records management. The Director of Technology improves process automation and data utilization strategies to provide meaningful data to drive decision making, manages the department budget to ensure alignment of resources and evaluates technology purchases that are cost-effective to maintain our 1:1 technology program and infrastructure, engages in on-going professional development to keep current in emerging technologies and performs other duties as assigned qualifications. The Ideal applicant MUST have the valid NYS Certification as School District Administrator or School District Leader required for the position, 2 years of administrative experience in public schools, experience with technology funding sources preferred, must be knowledgeable in Office 365, have an ability to work independently and possess effective decision-making skills. The Director of Technology must have excellent organizational and presentation skills and urban school division experience is preferred.
