The Director assists the Principals in the evaluation ofphysical education personnel, heath education personnel, and supervises the coaching staff.PURPOSETo provide the students in the district with a comprehensive and well-organized program inphysical education and athletics.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:New York State School District Administrator CertificationNew York State Physical Education CertificationEXPERIENCE:Prior experience as an Athletic Director (OR)Prior Administrator Experience with an extensive background in athletics; with previoussuccess in teaching and coaching.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the District’s Physical Education and Health Programs.Develop, implement and monitor the physical education and health education programswhile working with the Principals, Assistant Principals, Department Instructional Leaders,and Classroom Teachers.Responsible for Interscholastic Athletics, Modified Programs, and Intramural Programs.Coordinate the recruitment, and selection of Coaches and makes employmentrecommendations.Possess a complete and thorough knowledge of the New York State EducationDepartment’s Physical Education Curriculum.Ensure the District programs follow all laws, mandates, and policies set up by the state,section, league, and school.Possess a complete and thorough knowledge of the NYSPHSAA and OCIAA.Make requisitions, in cooperation with appropriate staff members for supplies, uniforms,and equipment for athletic programs.Responsible for scheduling athletic events including cancellations and postponements.Coordinate the development of practice schedules.Evaluate the Physical Education Staff, Health Staff, and Coaching Staff.Responsible for supervision at athletic events and activities connected with the program.Work with the Director of Transportation to arrange transportation needs for each sportsseason.Work with the Director of Plant Operations to ensure that all field and facilities areproperly maintained.APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 12, 2022The Monticello Central School District is in Sullivan County, NY, centrally located between NewYork City, Albany, and the Pocono Mountain region.
