The position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, expertise in hiring and recruitment, knowledge and experience in personnel policies and regulations, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an innovative, flexible, and creative approach to problem-solving. Additionally, candidates must possess strong people skills, and analytical skills for data and systems management. Qualifications: NYS Certification in School District Administration (SDA, SDL) required.Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a public school building principal and/or district administrator, along with at least five (5) years of teaching experience.Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Knowledge of human resources practices and effective use of information systems. Ability to work collaboratively and have a commitment to innovative and creative problem solving. Ability to develop, implement, and monitor long-term strategic plans. Major Responsibilities: Oversight of all K-12 human resources, recruitment, and personnel policies and regulations.In collaboration with district leaders, provide coordination in the supervision and evaluation of administrators, instructional faculty, and support staff.Provides leadership in the district-wide recruitment, selection, assignment, transfer, evaluation and termination of both instructional and support personnel. Assists Superintendent in the final decision regarding employment and prepares recommendations for the Superintendent’s submission to the Board of Education.Responsible for the planning and development of staff record-keeping programs and procedures concerning certification, seniority, longevity, tenure, and attendance.Develops, maintains, and organizes a system for job descriptions for new positions and assists in the review and revision of existing positions and their respective job descriptions.In collaboration with the Superintendent and Asst. Superintendent for Business and Operations, assists with contract negotiations and works towards the development of acceptable and functional negotiated agreements. Administer and interpret the provisions of negotiated agreements.Remains abreast of governmental statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to personnel administration and ensures compliance.Effectuates all staff leaves of absences, including those eligible via Federal, State, and/or Civil Service law/regulation.Acts as the District’s Title IX coordinator.Attends Board of Education meetings and prepares reports for all personnel actions for the Board as the Superintendent may request.Performs such additional duties as may be delegated by the Superintendent of Schools.
