Massapequa Public Schools Anticipated Opening - INTERIM Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics & RecreationThe Massapequa Schools are seeking skilled and experienced veteran administrators to apply for our INTERIM position of Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics & Recreation.  This temporary position is tentatively anticipated to continue until June 30, 2025.Job Responsibilities:Provide leadership, supervision, and evaluation of administrative, teaching, coaching, and support staff assigned to Health, Physical Education, Athletic, and Recreation departmentsSupervise school nurses and our Student Health Services departmentEnsure District compliance with all laws, regulations, and contractual provisions pertaining to Health, Physical Education, Athletics, Recreation, and Student Health ServicesWorking with District administration, implement an effective staffing plan for Health, Physical Education, Athletic, Recreation, and Student Health Services, including interviewing, candidate selection and recommendation, and staff scheduling.Be a visible presence at District athletic eventsWorking with District administration, implement an effective budget and financial plan for Health, Physical Education, Athletics, Recreation, and Student Health ServicesServes as liaison for the District on all councils, associations, committees and task forces related to Health, Physical Education, Athletic, Recreation, and Student Health ServicesProgram evaluation and needs assessment development and reporting, as directed by the Superintendent of SchoolsOther responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or Assistant SuperintendentsPosition Start Date: July 1, 2024Apply via OLAS only (no emails, fax, or mail).  Include in your application a letter of interest, resume, copies of valid NYS certifications held, and at least three letters of professional reference.  Address to Mr. Robert Schilling, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources & General Administration.Thank you in advance for not submitting applications via mail, fax, or e-mail.
