Moravia Central School District Maternity Leave Position: Agriculture Teacher & FFA Advisor Position Type: Long-Term Substitute (Maternity Leave) Start Date: September 3rd, 2026 End Date: Approximately November 20th, 2026 Position Overview The Moravia Central School District is seeking a passionate and motivated Agriculture Teacher & FFA Advisor to serve as a long-term substitute during a maternity leave. This position includes teaching agriculture courses and supporting a well-established FFA program. Responsibilities Teach middle and/or high school agriculture courses (content may include plant science, animal science, mechanics, 8th grade introductory ag topics) Deliver engaging, hands-on, and student-centered instruction aligned with CTE standards Supervise and support FFA activities, including meetings, events, and student leadership development Maintain a positive and safe classroom/lab environment Collaborate with colleagues in the CTE department and across disciplines Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Preferred Qualifications NYS certification in Agriculture Education (or eligibility) Strong classroom management and organizational skills Willingness to support and engage in FFA programming Ability to build relationships with students and community partners Flexibility and enthusiasm for stepping into an active program About the Program Active and growing FFA chapter with a developed membership and officer team Fundraisers each month and events throughout the year Hands-on learning opportunities, including labs, projects, and community involvement Supportive CTE department with opportunities for collaboration Please apply through OLAS and upload the following materials: Letter of interest addressed to Jeff Green, Jr./Sr. High School Principal Resume Two letters of recommendation Transcripts Copy of New York State certification in Agriculture Education (7-12) Moravia Central School District is an equal opportunity employer.
