Moravia Central School District is hiring a Local Area Network Technical Support Specialist to begin as soon as possible. This is a provisional civil service position. This means the candidate will be required to take the civil service exam when it is scheduled in the future and qualify for the position. In this role under supervision of the Director of Technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing specialized work in the design, development and implementation of computer applications as well as local area network operating systems. Expertise is required in installing, customizing and maintaining vendor supplied operating systems and application software for Local Area Networks. (A) The candidate must be a graduate from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field, and one (1) year of full-time work experience or it’s part-time equivalent, in Local Area Network (LAN) software installation, support and maintenance; OR(B) A graduate from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, and three (3) years of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, in Local Area Network (LAN) software installation, support and maintenance; OR(C) Possess five (5) years of full-time work experience, or its part-time equivalent, in Local Area Network (LAN) software installation, support and maintenance.
