The Mount Pleasant Central School District in Thornwood, New York is seeking an Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction for the 2025/2026 school year. Job responsibilities include:In collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools, provide leadership and supervision to directors, school administrators and faculty leaders in the implementation of all curricular initiativesAttend Work and Executive Sessions of the Board of EducationAnalyze assessment data and develop instructional plansChair the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Committee to facilitate the review and adoption of all curriculumCollaborate with human resources department to manage employee application, certification, hiring and orientationAdvise Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education on all matters related to curriculumDevelop an inquiry and growth-oriented approach to the observation process, including goal setting and reflectionPlan and support all districtwide staff development during the leadership retreat, Superintendent’s Conference and Institute DaysCreate an ongoing curriculum mapping process to support vertical and horizontal articulation in all disciplinesCoordinate district testing program and reportingAuthor the APPR, Comprehensive ELL, Professional Learning, Mentor and MTSS plansOversee school district policies on DASA, civil rights, harassment and workplace violence as the appointed officerCoordinate all title grants, including ESSA and ELLFacilitate the Faculty Leader, Professional Learning, MTSS, Literacy, New Teacher and Mentor meetingsMonitor compliance with the home-schooling process on behalf of the school district in accordance with CR 100.10Collaborate with building principals in the hiring, supervision, staff development and termination of instructional staff membersObserve all probationary teachers and others as necessarySupport collective bargaining under the direction of the Superintendent of SchoolsBuild, maintain and approve expenditures within the curriculum budgetServe as Districtwide DASA Coordinator, working with Director of Technology and Data, to ensure annual NYSED filing is completeAttend curriculum council meetings at regional BOCES or other approved conferences at the approval of the Superintendent of SchoolsCoordinate and initiate any and all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsReport directly to the Superintendent of Schools on all mattersThe successful candidate will hold appropriate NYS SDL or SDA certification and have experience in a related field.
