The position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship between healthy body function and exercise; that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness and appropriate social and emotional adjustment; that discovers and develops the talents of students in physical achievement; and that develops strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each student’s ability. The Creative Movement Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing high-quality movement-based programming for students with special needs ranging from 12- 21 years of age. The movement program participates in a broad range of physical activities including options like dance, gymnastics, yoga, and more. The Creative Movement Teacher also oversees the creation and showcasing of performances for special events.
