Anticipated Job Posting 2026-2027 __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Senior Army Instructor - High School The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District seeks a qualified Army JROTC Instructor to launch and lead its new Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program. This role offers a unique opportunity to establish a program focused on leadership, citizenship, self-discipline, and service. The instructor will implement the U.S. Army Cadet Command curriculum and help shape a positive, student-centered program rooted in Army values. Qualifications: Applicants must meet U.S. Army Cadet Command Instructor certification requirements. Eligible candidates include: Retired Army Personnel: NCOs (E6-E9), Warrant Officers (WO1-CW5), or Commissioned Officers (O3-O6). Separated Personnel: Per NDAA updates, recently separated officers or NCOs with at least 10 years of honorable service, appropriate rank, and an associate degree or higher. Reserve Components: Army National Guard and reserve members who meet the same criteria. Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring skills; experience with youth is preferred. Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Teach the Army JROTC curriculum, including leadership, citizenship, wellness, and drill Classroom management: Maintain a structured, respectful classroom environment. Extra-Curricular Coordination: Coordinate activities such as color guard, drill team, and community service Compliance: Ensure compliance with Cadet Command requirements, including enrollment, records, and inventory. Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the community. Mentorship: Serve as a role model, promoting Army standards and character development. Additional Information: Schedule: Full-time, 10 month school-year position with some after-school and weekend events. Compensation: Paid per U.S. Army Cadet Command guidelines and district policy.
