Must be available to work additional days during the summer.QUALIFICATIONS:NYS School Psychologist or Special Education Teacher CertificationMust meet NYSED Fingerprinting requirementsCHARACTERISTICS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:At least three to five years of successful work experience in school district setting, chairing CPSE, CSE, 504 meetingsThorough understanding of CPSE/CSE/504 guideline and regulations as related to Special Education program and servicesExtensive knowledge of psychological and educational testing Ability to problem solve and work effectively with families and various agenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written and digital)Bilingual preferred (Spanish)DUTIES:Implement and maintain procedures relevant to the CPSE/CSE/504 processEnsure that all students referred to the CPSE/CSE/504 receive the necessary evaluationsWork cooperatively with parents, preschools agencies and the District to coordinate programs and services as a result of CPSE/CSE/504 and Early Intervention meetings.Chair CPSE/CSE/504 meetingsWorks cooperatively with parents, agencies and school staff regarding appropriate educational programs for studentsStay apprised of all NYS laws and regulations pertaining to special education services for school age studentsEFFECTIVE: July 1, 2024
