In partnership with families and our community, the district’s mission is to promote confidence, inspire a passion for learning, and to prepare students to become responsible global citizens.QUALIFICATIONS:- NYS SDA/SDL Certification or eligibility preferred AA/EOE- NYSED Fingerprinting requirementsCHARACTERISTICS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:- Current knowledge of best practices in educating student with disabilities in the continuum of special education- Ability to effectively facilitate group decision making processes- Thorough knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing CSE and Section 504- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills- Thorough knowledge of NYSED exiting credentials, graduation requirements and demonstrated experience with transition planning for students with disabilities- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with parents, teachers, students and other district leaders-Previous experience as a CSE Chairperson preferredEFFECTIVE: Immediately
