Anticipated probationary vacancy with Rotterdam-Mohonasen Central School District, 2072 Curry Road, Schenectady, NY 12303 for a Director of Special Education. School District Leader certification required. Salary range $100,000. - $120,000.Qualifications: The Successful candidate shall provide educational leadership and supervision to Special Education personnel and programs. Will ensure that the programs are in compliance with all state and federal regulations consistent with Federal Law and the Part 200 Regulations of the Commissioner governing the education of children with handicapping conditions. Will develop a close working relationship with building and district level administrators. Will be responsible for planning, managing and evaluating programs of Special Education and related services, homebound instruction, out of district placements and coordinate STAC and Medicaid submissions. Will oversee the timely submission of State Education reports and author and manage multiple grants including but not limited to 611 and 619. Will coordinate the activities of the District Committees on Special Education (CSE/CPSE) and assess the development of department policies and practices. Will facilitate professional learning, including training in laws and regulations related to the CSE/CPSE and specific disabilities for special education and general education.
