The Mohonasen Central School District has an opening for a long term substitute science teacher position at Draper Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year. NYS Science certification required. Salary as per contract. Apply online and include a letter of interest, resume and references directed to: Laurel Logan-King, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.Teacher Expectations:Knowledge and understanding of the NYSSLS Standards; Develop lessons to engage students in the science curriculum with the goal of mastery of the standards;Engage parents and families in the learning process through regular communication;Possess the ability to use technology including but not limited to Google Workspace.Teacher Qualities:Be a team player within the science department as well as with the Draper faculty;Work toward fulfilling building and district goals by supporting the science instruction of all students;Model a growth mindset;Be willing to become engaged in the school community through participation in events, experiences, and professional committees.Science Department Responsibilities:Promote an inclusive environment that welcomes students of all backgrounds;Develop and implement Draper’s middle school science curriculum in conjunction with other grade level, subject area teachers;Collaborate with other middle school faculty/staff in order to assess student achievement on grade level assessments and benchmarks;Maintain accurate records as it pertains to student grades and achievement, attendance, discipline, and communication.
