The Mohonasen Central School District has an opening for a probationary mathematics teacher position at Draper Middle School starting for the 2022-2023 school year. NYS Mathematics 7-12 certification required. Math 5-6 extension preferred. Salary as per contract. Apply online and include a letter of interest, resume and references directed to: Laurel Logan-King, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.Teacher Expectations: Knowledge and understanding of the Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards and the Common Core Standards in Mathematics; Develop lessons to engage students in the mathematics curriculum with the goal of mastery of the standards; Engage parents and families in the learning process through regular communication; Possess the ability to use technology including but not limited to Google Workspace, online remediation and diagnostic software, and smartboards. Teacher Qualities: Be a team player within the mathematics department as well as with the Draper faculty; Work toward fulfilling building and district goals by supporting the math instruction of all students; Model a growth mindset; Be willing to become involved in the school community through participation in events, experiences, and professional committees. Math Department Responsibilities: Promote an inclusive environment that welcomes students of all backgrounds; Develop and implement Draper’s middle school mathematics curriculum in conjunction with other grade level, subject area teachers; Collaborate with other middle school faculty/staff in order to assess student achievement on grade level assessments and benchmarks; Maintain accurate records as it pertains to student grades and achievement, attendance, discipline, and communication.
