Mineola High School Social Worker Leave Replacement The Mineola School District has a vacancy for a highly energetic and qualified Social Worker for a Leave Replacement. Beginning on or about November 21, 2026 for approximately 3-4+ months. NYS certification - School Social Worker - LMSW required Successful training and experience preferred Responsibilities Conduct individual and small-group counseling sessions focusing on social-emotional learning, anger management, coping strategies, and crisis resolution. Perform biopsychosocial assessments to identify student needs, strengths, and environmental factors affecting academic performance. Provide immediate crisis intervention and safety planning during mental health emergencies or traumatic incidents within the school community. Serve as a core member of the multidisciplinary team to complete socio-developmental evaluations for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans. Participate in Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and collaborate with staff to design and monitor Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs). Track student progress, manage case notes, and maintain confidential documentation in compliance with district policies, FERPA, and state laws. Bridge communication between home, school, and community by conducting home visits and facilitating parent consultations. Connect students and families with external community resources, including housing assistance, mental health clinics, food registries, and medical care. Advocate for marginalized or at-risk student populations, ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities and support systems. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop classroom-level behavioral interventions and positive climate strategies. Lead professional development sessions on trauma-informed practices, restorative justice, and mental health awareness for school staff. Contribute to Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams to implement Tier 1, 2, and 3 social-emotional interventions.
