Mineola High School Guidance Counselor SUBSTITUTE LEAVE REPLACEMENT The Mineola UFSD has a vacancy for a highly energetic and qualified Guidance Counselor Substitute for a Leave Replacement. Beginning on or about February 14, 2025 for approximately 3-5 weeks. NYS certification - School Counselor requiredSuccessful training and experience preferred ResponsibilitiesPossess outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others in multiple settingsProven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with all members of the school communityAssist students in developing career plans Support students with college applications, career identification, and professional resume developmentCollaborate with school staff including social workers, counselors, and other school and community based mental health staffServe as a liaison between school building and teams, families and community to assure positive outcomes for all learnersSupport school level social, emotional and mental health goals to improve student outcomesPromote inclusivity and equity for all students Work directly with students through SEL and mental health groups or individual work to teach foundational social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health skills, such as self awareness and self-management1:1 sessions with students to address identified needsKeep detailed records and collect data to monitor student progress Provide student counseling in areas such as family relationships, career and school attendance, and peer relationshipsEstablish and maintain ongoing communication with families to foster partnerships and promote family engagement.Effective: February 14, 2025Certification: Above position requires appropriate NY State CertificationSalary: as per MTA Contract - Daily Substitute ratePlease apply to www.olasjobs.org by January 3, 2025
