ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCYDean of StudentsMineola High School The Mineola UFSD is seeking a Dean of Students that will be responsible for supporting, building and teaching a positive school culture. The Dean of Students will help create protocols, processes, and awareness amongst all members of the school community that reflects best practices in the area of social and emotional well-being including mindfulness, problem solving that is solution oriented, and consequences that are clear, consistent and restorative. Responsibilities: Working closely with school leadership and clinical teams to ensure effective implementation of restorative approaches and compassionate classroom approaches in order to increase social and emotional skills of teams and to ensure safetyLeads conflict-resolution approaches for classrooms, between students and teaches these skills to school staffTrain teachers, teacher aides and other school staff in basic social safety management strategies including conflict resolution, restorative approaches and developing effective plansMaintains communication with prospective students via email, phone and text message through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.Understanding and supporting our district’s mission NYS (SAS, SDA, SBL, SDL) CertificationEffective Date: July 1, 2023Salary: Per AMSA Contract Please email a letter of interest, resume and copy of certification by June 22nd with “Dean of Students” in the subject line to: mmaravel@mineola.k12.ny.us Margarita Maravel, Director of Personnel and Literacy.
