The Mineola UFSD is seeking a Supervisor of Special Education that will be responsible for the management of district resources as it relates to Special Education, School Psychologists and Pupil Personnel Services in accordance with district policies, procedures and state and federal laws. The Supervisor of Special Education will oversee the overall operations of the department. The supervisory responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: school health services, speech and language services, special education, home instruction, CSE and CPSE, Section 504 services, and non-public school services. Qualifications: Supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of Special Education instructional services. Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of professional development activities for the department’s faculty and staff.Works with principals and teachers in organizing and coordinating grade level and departmental meetings, in order to ensure consistency and continuity in the implementation of the instructional program for special education students from one level to the next. Assists in the reviewing and implementation of the district’s annual goals as they pertain to the Special Education DepartmentSupervises the student evaluation and IEP development process to ensure compliance with district policies and NYS laws.Conducts CSE and 504 meetings.Conducts observations and evaluations of the faculty and staff of the Special Education DepartmentHighly collaborative, results-oriented, adaptable, problem-solving self-starter, meet the social-emotional needs of families and staff.Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.Strong knowledge of Part 200 and Part 201 Regulations.
