The Miller Place Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Varsity Football Head Coach to lead the high school football program for the 2026–2027 school year.Responsibilities:Provide leadership and oversight of the entire varsity football program, including coaching, strategy planning, and daily practice organization.Mentor, supervise, and collaborate with assistant coaches and support staff to develop athletes and uphold a unified coaching philosophy.Plan and conduct effective practices and game-day execution that emphasize skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.Ensure compliance with all New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) and Section XI rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements.Promote the academic success and personal growth of student-athletes, modeling positive character, integrity, and leadership.Communicate regularly with athletic administration, parents/guardians, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and expectations.Qualifications:3-5 years prior coaching experience at the varsity level is strongly preferred.Deep knowledge of football fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning.Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to foster a positive learning environment that emphasizes respect, inclusion, and development of student-athletes.Coaching certifications, CPR/AED, First Aid, Concussion Management, DASA, Child Abuse Identification, and School Violence Prevention (or willingness to obtain).
