Posting #26-101 ANTICIPATED VACANCY NOTICE DATE: February 10, 2026 POSITION TITLE: Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher LOCATION: Mexico Middle School CERTIFICATION: Valid NYS Certification START DATE: As soon as possible MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid NYS Certification: Special Education, Students With Disabilities (All Grades), Students With Disabilities (Grades 1-6), or (Grades 5-9) Generalist Strong commitment to children Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the development of intervention programs, writing individualized education programs, and monitoring student progress Experience with a behavioral approach to teaching and learning Ability to maintain a positive learning environment Knowledge of New York State Common Core Learning Standards and understanding of effective classroom instruction Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, temporary appointment $145.00 per day (Certified) Assignment expected to last through June 2026 APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until filled Paper applications are no longer accepted for professional (instructional) positions.
