Positions Available: The licensed behavior analyst will work towards effecting positive behavioral changes in students, providing supportive interventions to families and/or students, and complying with Federal, State, County and District policies, regulations and/or procedures.Salary: According to the Merrick Faculty Association contractQualifications: Must possess a license as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)Experience teaching students with severe disabilitiesExperience supporting students with challenging behaviorsTrained in utilizing Applying Behavior AnalysisPreferred New York State school certification (teaching, psychology, etc…) Description: Work collaboratively with the district psychologist, building psychologists, and building administrators to develop, implement, and monitor behavior interventions.Administer programs and services for behaviorally or emotionally disabled students for the purpose of improved functioning within self-contained and general education classrooms.Develop interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviors.Assist in developing procedures and training materials for district staff involved with students with challenging behaviors for the purpose of enhancing programs for students in both special education and general education settings.In collaboration with the district psychologist, conduct workshops, training, in-service presentations, etc. in classroom management techniques and other topics for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective relationships with behaviorally or emotionally disabled students.Support parents in developing a greater understanding of how to best support their child/children with challenging behaviors through individual and group parent training workshops.Clear understanding of and experience with the use of technology to collect, graph, analyze, display and discuss data-based progress.Knowledge of special education law and regulations as it relates to designing and making recommendations for student programs and accommodations.
