The Board of Education of the Middleburgh Central School District invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Speech Language Pathologist.10-month position4-year probationary appointmentQUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certified as Speech Language Pathologist; familiarity with current research, methodology, and learning standards in speech therapy. Membership with ASHA. Experience working with students with cerebral palsy, developmental verbal apraxia, hearing impairments, stuttering, and autism spectrum disorders preferred. Should be familiar with augmentative communication devices, amplification devices, and basic signs. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide speech and language therapy to students with disabilities, as per their IEP mandatesProvide Speech Improvement Services to non-mandated studentsProvide consultation to classroom teachers, special education teachers, related service providers, and parents regarding the speech and language needs of students.Attend CPSE, CSE, CST, and Section 504 meetings as neededPerform screenings, evaluations, and assessments, as requested.Develop reports: Screenings, Initial Assessments, Reevaluations, Annual Education Reviews, and make recommendations to the CSE & CPSEDevelop and update IEPs as needed.
