Notice of Anticipated VacancyJanuary 16, 2026 Leave Replacement Speech Language Pathologist District WideThis position is available March 30, 2026 Position Description:The successful candidate will be motivated, engaging, and student-centered, with demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students in both general education and special class settings. The position requires supporting students with a wide range of disabilities, understanding various speech-language disorders and their impact on access to the general education curriculum, and collaborating within a speech-language team to support students effectively in partnership with families. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Serving on the school-based Instructional Support Team and supporting the Response to Intervention (RTI) process, including attending weekly meetings, responding to teacher referrals, monitoring plans, implementing interventions, and assisting in identifying students for evaluationConducting speech-language evaluations, preparing written reports, presenting findings to CSE and Section 504 Committees, and reviewing results with familiesProviding small group, individual, and push-in services aligned to student goals and the general education curriculum in areas of voice, fluency, pragmatic, expressive/receptive language, and articulationSupporting students with varied and significant disabilities, including those requiring intensive communication supportCollecting and analyzing data to monitor student progress toward goals and standardsCollaborating with teachers and staff to provide strategies and interventions for struggling studentsTraining students, families, and staff in non-verbal and alternative communication methods, including sign language, gestures, and picture exchange communication systems (PECS)Top of FormBottom of Form Qualifications:• New York State Speech Language Pathologist License• Certificate of Clinical Competence of the American Speech Language Hearing Association• Experience with AAC, PECS, PROMPT, Oral Sensory-Motor is preferred.
