Notice of Anticipated VacancyAugust 22, 2025 Probationary Special Education Teacher Shelter Rock Elementary SchoolThis position is available September 1, 2025Position Description: The successful candidate is motivated, engaging, and student centered with a demonstrated ability of working with students with varying disabilities in an integrated co-teaching program. The duties include but are not limited to:Assessing students’ abilities and building individual lesson plans tailored to their specific needs.Differentiating existing curriculum on basic subjects to meet each student's learning requirements.Keeping track of and reflecting on students’ curricular and IEP goal progress.Working with students who have significant learning and language disabilities.Monitoring children’s behavioral patterns and implementing behavior intervention plans as needed.Managing classroom crises and resolving conflict.Preparing students for transition to the next grade.Informing parents/guardians about their children’s performance.Attending committee meeting and participating in the development of individual Educational Programs (IEPs).Qualifications: New York State Dual Certification: Elementary and Students with Disabilities, Birth to Grade 2 and Grades 1-6. Reading certification and Wilson experience is a plus.
