Administrative VacancyAssistant Superintendent for Business and OperationsThis position is available immediately or on July l, 2025 The Manhasset School District, a premier, nationally-recognized school district on the North Shore of Long Island, seeks a highly-qualified Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations. The ideal candidate is experienced, organized, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong knowledge of school district operations, finances, laws, policies, procedures, and regulations. The successful candidate must have high-level, executive leadership experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as problem-solving abilities. This 12-month position is a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet and reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools. The role is not a member of a collective bargaining unit. Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree (minimum) and New York State Business Administrator (SBA), School District Business Leader (SDBL), School District Administrator (SDA), or School District Leader (SDL) certification. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in school district business and operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations is responsible for the business affairs of the school district, including administration of payroll, accounting, accounts payable and receivable, investments, short- and long-term borrowing, risk management, insurance, purchasing, taxes, debt services, and other fiscal matters. In addition to the supervision of business affairs, this position is responsible for the following: Preparation of the annual operating budget of approximately $115,000,000Serves as the District's Chief Residency Officer and the District's Chief Records Access OfficerOversees facilities, transportation, food services, information technology infrastructure, and school safety with direct supervision to the District Treasurer, Business Manager, Payroll Supervisor, Purchasing Agent, Director of Facilities, Director of Food Services, and Director of Transportation and Central RegistrationSupervises the administration of employee benefits with responsibility for the supervision of all aspects of employee benefits including health, dental, life, retirement, and Federal ACS and COBRA laws for all employees and retirees, disability, worker's compensation, and unemployment claims Works closely with the Board of Education's Claims Auditor and Internal Auditor in safeguarding the District's assets, and strengthening the internal controls of the District's operations Collaborates with the Human Resource Office regarding employee benefits including health, dental, life, retirement, for all employees and retirees, disability, worker's compensation, and unemployment claims payments.Qualified candidates should apply by May 16, 2025, via OLAS, with a letter of interest, proof of NYS certification, and resume by to:Dr. Gaurav PassiSuperintendent Manhasset Public Schools 200 Memorial Place, Manhasset, New York 11030 An equal opportunity employer
