RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist CoLAB teachers in delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in engineering, design, and fabricationSupport students in hands-on work across the CoLAB spaces, including the woodshop, metalshop, prototyping studio, and large group instructional areasHelp maintain a safe, organized, and professional learning environment with a strong emphasis on tool safety, lab protocols, and collaborative project workflowsAssist in the setup, maintenance, and use of equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and other digital fabrication toolsSupport students in project-based learning, design challenges, and interdisciplinary STEM initiativesPromote an inclusive and affirming classroom environment that supports all learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and ENL needsCommunicate effectively with students, staff, and families, both orally and in writing POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Passion for STEM education, maker-centered learning, and project-based teachingComfort with tools, machinery, and fabrication processes—or a willingness to learn and be trainedAbility to support and engage students from diverse backgrounds and with varied learning needsStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsFlexibility, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindsetDedication to professional growth and contributing to a dynamic teamPossession of appropriate New York State CertificationREPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of STEMEthnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
