Position: Special Education Teacher – Long-Term Substitute/Leave Replacement Location: Hommocks Middle School Position Available: September 1, 2022 - TBD Supervisor: Building Principal and Director of Special Education Requirements: NYS Special Education SWD Certification (gr 1-6) OR NYS Special Education SWD Certification (gr 7-12) Responsibilities/Skillset:Knowledge of high leverage middle school special education practicesAbility to plan for and develop differentiated learning plans within highly structured learning environmentsIEP Development including assessment, goals, modifications, and accommodationsExperience in Integrated Coteaching and/or resource room assignmentsKnowledge of stages of adolescent developmentUnderstanding of positive behavior reinforcement systems and class managementStrong communication and collaboration skills Compensation: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association.
