Position: Special Education Teacher - Probationary Location: Mamaroneck Ave Elementary School Position Available: September 1, 2022 Supervisor: Building Principal and Director of Special Education Requirements: NYS Special Education Certification Special class teaching experience Knowledge of ABA and TEACCH PracticesResponsibilities/Skillset:· Knowledge of high leverage special education practices· Ability to plan for and develop differentiated learning plans within highly structured learning environments· IEP Development for multiply disabled students within a special class environment including assessment, goals, modifications, and accommodations· Knowledge of ABA and TEACCH Practices· Strong understanding of positive behavior reinforcement systems and task analysis· Strong communication and collaboration skills· The ability to calmly and effectively respond to challenging behaviors, while supporting the de-escalation of student in a kind and safe manner Compensation: In accordance with the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Mamaroneck Teachers’ Association.
