The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated probationary position for the 2025/2026 School Year: Orchestra Teacher – Mahopac Middle SchoolThe position includes performing ensembles and group lesson instruction for grades 6-8. Candidates should have strong proficiency on violin, viola, cello, and bass, with the ability to teach and demonstrate basic, fundamental and advanced string-instrument technique. The ability to instruct alternative styles (e.g., fiddle, folk, mariachi) is a plus.Candidates must be excellent musicians, possess good communication skills, be positive, enthusiastic, well organized, willing to work collaboratively as part of a team, and NYS certified in K-12 music.The Mahopac Central School District has been recently named one of NAMM’s Best Communities for Music Education and the district is proud to offer students a 4-12 orchestra program.
