SCHOOL DISTRICT TREASURER - DISTRICT OFFICE The Mahopac Central School District has an immediate opening for a School District Treasurer to oversee the general operations of the school district’s business office. This 12 month position is directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will: Be able to demonstrate success as a leader in the areas of school finances and risk management.Have experience overseeing school business office procedures including but not limited to purchasing, payroll and accounting.Have knowledge of long term financial planning, state aid reporting and capital project administration. Performs accounting for all funds utilizing NYS municipal accounting systemMaintain cash receipts and cash disbursements for all fundsBe responsible for processing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and all other aspects of the accounting process in conformity with regulatory requirements pertaining to fund accounting (current funds include: General, Capital, Cafeteria, Federal, Debt Service, and Trust & Agency).Process all bank wires and transfers and review and approve monthly bank reconciliations.Monitor the District’s cash flow and prepares fund balance projectionsComplete monthly treasurer’s report for board meetingsPrepare annual filings for submission to the state including ST-3 and supplemental schedules, ESSA-SLFS, Maintenance of Effort and annual Medicaid Report, etc.Maintain records for capital projects, processes payments to contractors, and prepares state aid forms for each projectPrepare all required grants reporting (financial) including request for funds and final expenditure reports.Facilitate and coordinate all regulatory audits (including monthly claims, annual year end and internal audits)Possess and demonstrate excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Have the ability to build relationships and work cooperatively with administration, faculty, staff and the community.Have previous supervisory experience and hold a degree in accounting or business administration. Auditing experience is a plus. Preferred candidates may hold or are working toward New York State Certification as a School Business Administrator (SBA) or School District Business Leader (SDBL) a plus.Application deadline: no later than January 27, 2025.
