The Mahopac Central School District has an opening for a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist at Mahopac Middle School.Responsibilities include:Delivering speech therapy using a variety of service delivery models, including classroom intervention and individual or group sessions consistent with the IEP mandates. Knowledge of programs that support Related Services in the Classroom.Conducting evidence-based practices which target the goals and objectives of students’ IEPs.Administering standardized and informal tests and screenings and interprets and writes up results.Collaborating with classroom teachers on speech-language disorders and curriculum demands.Preparing IEPs for the Committee on Special Education Annual Review based on students’ strengths and weaknesses.Maintaining master caseload list with accurate mandates.Communicating and consults with supervisor, principal, nurse, occupational therapist, school clinicians, guidance counselor, teachers, teaching assistants, residential staff, CSE etc.Assisting with formation of functional behavior assessments and behavior improvement plans when appropriate.Communicating with families/guardians of students and making referrals to outside providers when needed.Applicants must hold valid NYS Certification in K-12 Speech & Language Disabilities.
