The Mahopac Central School District has an anticipated opening for a full-time probationary Special Education Teacher to work in our Skills I program at Mahopac High School.Experience working with students with cognitive disabilities, students with Autism, and/or students with multiple disabilities required. Training and experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Structured TEACCH required. Individuals who are Certified Behavior Analyst or Licensed Behavior Analyst within New York State are strongly encouraged to apply. NYS Certification is required.The Skills I program provides a highly structured classroom environment whereas students are working toward generalizing skills from one setting to another. Students are provided with explicit instruction in pro-social skills, activities of daily living, pre-vocational and vocational skills training. Students have the opportunity to work on these skills both in the classroom and in community-based worksite settings.
