Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Probationary Maintenance Worker I. Hourly rate is per the CSEA contract. Based on 2,080 annual hours (260 days at 8 hours per day), annualized salary is $61,817.60 plus benefits. The incumbent will perform a variety of minor maintenance work on facilities and equipment in public school buildings including minor plumbing projects such as clearing stopped drains, minor electrical projects such as changing electrical switches, minor mechanical projects such as repairing door locks, minor carpentry work such as replacing floor and wall tiles, assisting in the repair and replacement of window panes, door frames, shelves and cabinets, rough painting, both interior and exterior, including signage in parking areas, minor maintenance and repair on heating and cooling equipment such as cleaning boilers, monitoring performance, and performing minor repair work on vehicles and grounds equipment such as mowers and weed wackers.Candidates must meet the Civil Service requirements for the title, either: (a) Completion of one (1) year of vocational education courses in a vocational school program, or in an apprentice or training program in one of the craft areas; or, (b) One (1) year of experience in minor maintenance or repair work; or, (c) A satisfactory equivalent combination of the above education or training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).
