Primary Purpose:The Mattituck-Cutchogue School District is searching for an experienced and innovative educator to lead its Junior-Senior High School. The school is home to grades 7-12 and offers a robust educational program to its diverse, talented, and driven student population of approximately 530 students. Our school community is comprised of a dedicated and talented faculty and staff of 102 along with a very supportive parent body and engaged local community. Mattituck Junior-Senior High School's mission is to nurture student's passion for life and learning, foster collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, encourage a range of perspectives, and promote and practice personal integrity. The position of Mattituck Junior-Senior High School Principal requires a leader with a demonstrated record of accomplishment of teaching and administrative experience at the secondary level as well as the desire and commitment to effectively connect with all stakeholders within this unique school and community. Requirements:The successful candidate for Principal must exhibit the following criteria: Possess a deep knowledge base developed through secondary experience coupled with a demonstrated understanding of the adolescent child.Demonstrate and understand an appreciation of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and communicate effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.Exhibit effective instructional leadership, an ability to effectively utilize data to enhance student performance and guiding and supporting faculty in the implementation of highly effective instructional practices.Balance student, faculty, and parent perspectives and concerns, collaborate and make decisions that are always in the best interest of students, and commit to hearing and keeping all stake holders informed.Act as a liaison between the school and the community by forging relationships with local individuals and organizations.Foster an environment that nurtures the social, emotional, and physical well being of students, be familiar in the implementation of restorative practices, and will facilitate mutual respect among students, faculty, and parents.Work collaboratively with the Superintendent and members of the administrative team in support of students and staff.Hold a New York State SAS, SBL or SDA certification.Interested parties, please apply through OLAS.
