Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD is currently recruiting for a full-time (180 school days) Provisional Security Guard for the 10am-6:30pm shift. Candidates must meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position and must be reachable on the Security Guard OC list when the examination for the title is next offered by Civil Service. Civil Service will also perform a qualifying medical and psychological evaluation. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Duties: Provides security services to protect people (students, faculty, employees, parents and visitors) and property in a school building Monitors activities and would be expected to intervene in case of a disturbance, emergency or medical emergency and contact the authorities May be required to calm disturbances, restrain individuals and/or assist law enforcement May be assigned to a particular station or post or to patrol and area/building in the District Directs visitors to parking areas, greets visitors, may have them sign in (as needed), directs individuals to the area they are visiting Periodically during shift, will be responsible for patrolling specific areas (checking gates, doors, locks) or monitoring activities such as bus and parent arrivals/pick-ups Upon appointment, candidates must apply for registration as a guard with the New York State Department of State, Division of Licensing Services, and maintain said license throughout employment in this title Annual Salary per CSEA contract is $39,456
