ANTICIPATED POSITION AVAILABLE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALLynbrook High SchoolJuly 1, 2025The Lynbrook School District is seeking a detail-oriented assistant principal to join our leadership team to work in close partnership with the principal to lead, manage, and support all aspects of the school’s operations, a dedicated professional who gives 100% every day and consistently follows through to ensure that tasks and initiatives are completed to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will:Be able to plan and execute complex school-wide student activities independently (e.g. class night, honor society inductions, career fairs, etc.).Oversee facilities operations and work collaboratively with custodial, grounds, and maintenance staff.Possess an intimate knowledge of safety and security protocols and the ability to work in concert with members of law enforcement.Help students achieve their highest potential through positive role modeling and mentorship.Manage student behavior and disciplinary procedures in a fair, consistent, and supportive manner.Communicate effectively with parents with an ability to conduct difficult conversations with candor, judgement, and empathy.Serve as a visible, approachable leader who builds strong relationships with students, staff, and families.Support classroom instruction and drive instructional improvement through coaching, observation, and feedback. Qualifications:Valid New York State administrative certification.A minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching and/or counseling experience, preferably at the secondary level.Ability to work long hours before and after school.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experiences with restorative practices and social-emotional frameworks.Knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
