Position Summary: The One-to-One Teacher Assistant supports an individual Pre-K student throughout the school day under the direction of the classroom teacher and related service providers. The assistant helps the student participate safely and successfully in classroom activities while promoting independence, social development, communication, and academic readiness skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide direct one-to-one support to an assigned Pre-K student throughout the school day. Assist the student with participation in classroom routines, instructional activities, transitions, meals, recess, and specials. Support the implementation of behavioral, academic, social-emotional, and communication strategies as directed by the teacher and service providers. Reinforce lessons and activities introduced by the classroom teacher. Assist with maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and daily activities as requested. Support toileting, hygiene, feeding, and other personal care needs as required. Encourage independence and appropriate peer interactions. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or supervising teacher. New York State Teacher Assistant Certification Level I, II, or III required.
