A priority substitute will be responsible for performing instruction in collaboration with the special education teacher in the Life Skills program. The Priority Substitute will assist in further individualizing programs by working with individual and small groups of students in tandem with the teacher. The Priority Substitute will assist in collecting data related to IEP goals and participate in progress monitoring. The role will at times require the implementation of behavior intervention strategies that include, but are not limited to: following a Behavior Intervention plan and/or utilizing Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training to de-escalate challenging behaviors (physical or verbal).
