The Lindenhurst UFSD is seeking highly qualified special education teachers who possess the appropriate NYS Certification(s). Candidates should possess an in-depth knowledge of Specially Designed Instruction (SDI), IEP writing, data collection, and goal development to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Dual certified or candidates possessing SOCE certifications (Math, ELA) are preferred. Responsibilities Include: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations Deliver differentiated instruction aligned with students' IEP goals and general education curriculum Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families Maintain accurate student records, including progress monitoring and reporting Participate in CSE meetings, professional development, and building/district initiatives Utilize evidence-based practices to support academic and behavioral success Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, engagement, and independence Please address job-specific cover letters to Ms. Lauren Whitenack, Coordinator of Secondary Special Education.
