The Lindenhurst UFSD is looking for a dynamic leader to serve as the Coordinator of Secondary Special education. The position is a tenure track probationary position which will begin July 1, 2023. Please address job specific cover letters to Mr. Bret Kearney, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Personnel.The roles and responsibilities of the Coordinator of Secondary Special Education include but are not limited to:Supervise all Middle and High School special education teachersConduct observations utilizing the Danielson FrameworkDeveloping master schedules for secondary special education teachersSupervision, hiring and assigned paraprofessionalsSpecial Education curriculum developmentProfessional developmentCoordinating state testing and ensuring testing accommodations are followed for 504/IEP studentsAssisting in the hiring of secondary special education staffImplement department initiatives at the secondary levelManage departmental budget and suppliesOversee the implementation, development and evaluation of new programs, resources, and instructional methodologyEnsure IEP compliance within the classroomEstablishing and maintaining relationships with families and staffKnowledge of best practices in working with students with significant needs and emotional needs
