Job Number: 2223 LCSD 155 Director of Curriculum for Social Studies, LOTE & ENL The successful candidate will assist the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction substantially and effectively by providing development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the K-12 Social Studies, LOTE, and ENL programs. Plan, organize, and direct all activities pertaining to K-12 Instruction including, Social Studies, LOTE, and ENL programs reflective of NYSED Learning Standards and Assessments.Coordinate and supervise the instructional program for K-12 students taught at home.Coordinate and monitor the 7-12 Instruction During Suspension Program.Collaborate with principals and directors to ensure coordination of instructional programs among all school buildings.Coordinate the selection, utilization, and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.Develop, implement, and evaluation the English as a Second Language Program and prepare the Title III and Part 154 grant applications in partnership with Assistant to the Superintendent for Administration.Observe and evaluate the in-class performance of designated teachers including but not limited to areas of supervision. Supervise and evaluate related staff.Plan, schedule, and implement programs of in-service training for teachers and related staff.Develop budget and staffing recommendations for areas of responsibility.Other duties and assignments commensurate with the positon as directed by the Superintendent of Schools.Qualifications:NYS-SDA/SDL required.Successful experience as a building or district level administrator.Considerable knowledge of policies and practices of public school administration.Thorough understanding of curriculum-related areas as set forth by NYSED Law. The successful candidate must possess excellent skills in communication.
