Director of Special Programs & Data ReportingSeeking highly qualified individual to support the District’s K-12 instructional programs through the administration of special programs and data reporting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Valid certification as school district administratorPrior administrative experienceSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find acceptable. REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources SUPERVISES: As assigned JOB SUMMARY OR FUNCTION:To support the district’s K-12 instructional programs through the administration of special programs and data reporting. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Evaluates teaching procedures for assigned areas.Plans, organizes, and presides over meetings.Approves all requests for attendance at professional meetings and conferences for assigned staff.Supervises and coordinates designated district-funded and grant-funded education programs.Prepares special reports for the Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools, principals, and teachers concerning the status of regular and special programs in assigned areas.Coordinates the interviewing process for prospective teachers in assigned areas.Evaluates professional and support staff in assigned areas.Plans, improves, and oversees the District’s NYS Testing Program (NYSTP).Supervises and coordinates the ordering, administration and scoring of State Assessments. (i.e. Grade 3-8 ELA & Math, Grade 4 & 8 Science, NYS Identification Test for English Language Learners (NYSITELL), and NYS English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT)).Supervises all student data including, but not limited to, NYS Assessment Program and assigned Compensatory Programs, Data Collection and Reporting - New York State Student Identification System (NYSSIS), Students Information Repository System (SIRS)/Data Warehouse.Attend meetings, training, and maintains contact with BOCES regarding status of district’s data and any changes in reporting procedures or policies.Maintains familiarity on a systemic and continuing basis with new trends and publications in assigned areas.Implements teacher certification and district-wide course alignment: Aligned courses district-wide to match New York State crosswalk, and to ensure all teacher certifications align with the appropriate courses they are teaching.Understands NYSED reporting requirements and ability to interpret assessment and other reports.Works with District staff to coordinate the District’s student management software systems and recommends appropriate databases to inform and improve instruction.Implement reporting procedures on teacher placement and certifications utilizing the District’s employee management software systems.Other duties and assignments as directed by the Superintendent of Schools or designee. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months per year. Terms & Conditions of Employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Middle Island Administrators’ Association (MIAA).
