The Lake George Central School District is seeking a Music Teacher for a full-time (1.0 FTE) probationary position at the Lake George Central School District. The ideal candidate will teach music, primarily at the PK-6 level. The candidate should have proficiency in musical instruments as well. Minimum qualifications: NYS Music Teacher CertificationSalary Range: $49,149-$82,197Generous benefits package under the Lake George Education Association ContractEffective Date: September 1, 2024Key Responsibilities:Teach and foster a comprehensive music program that aligns with the New York State Core Arts Standards, promoting musical growth, creativity, and a love for singing and music playing. Provide instruction in music in a variety of settings and use effective instructional techniques tailored to individual student goals and objectives.Provides instruction and support in the area of music education.Effectively organizes instructional material to maximize student learning.Conduct engaging rehearsals and performances for elementary choral ensembles at various skill levels.Organize and oversee elementary choral performances throughout the school year.Assist with instrumental lessons as needed, supporting the growth and development of young musicians in our program.Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, motivated, and inspired to develop a love of music.QualificationsEssential:Extensive knowledge of vocal pedagogy and the ability to nurture and develop young voices effectivelyExperience and knowledge of playing a variety of instruments, preferably brass and woodwind instrumentsExcellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsA genuine love for music, singing, and making music with school-aged children To apply, please submit a letter of interest, resume, certification(s), and transcript(s) through the OLAS application system no later than June 1, 2024.
