The Levittown Public School District is seeking a dedicated Athletic Chairperson to provide leadership and oversight of the District’s interscholastic athletic programs at Division Avenue High School and Wisdom Lane Middle School. The Athletic Chairperson will work collaboratively with school administrators, coaches, student-athletes, families, and community partners to support a comprehensive athletic program. Qualifications: New York State administrative certification required. Physical Education certification, coaching, and/or athletic administration experience strongly preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to lead staff, manage resources, and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership and oversight of the interscholastic athletic programs at Division Avenue High School and Wisdom Lane Middle School. Supervise and evaluate coaches, athletic trainers, and other athletic personnel. Ensure compliance with District policies and all applicable rules and regulations of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) and Section VIII. Coordinate athletic schedules, transportation, officials, facilities, and game management for home and away contests. Oversee the hiring, mentoring, certification, and professional development of coaching staff. Develop, monitor, and manage the athletic budget, including equipment, uniforms, supplies, and other program needs. Coordinate preseason parent-athlete meetings and ensure completion of athletic eligibility requirements and required participation documentation. Monitor student-athlete eligibility and ensure required forms, medical clearances, and other participation requirements are maintained. Coordinate athletic recognition programs, awards, celebrations, and postseason events. Collaborate with building and District administrators to address athletic program needs, concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.
