Start Date: July 1, 2026 Assistant Superintendent for Special Ed & Administration Position Description: Levittown Public Schools seeks a dedicated and experienced educator to join our leadership team, committed to “Success for Every Student.” The Assistant Superintendent for Special Education and Administration will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the district’s special education programs, ensuring high-quality, individualized support for students with disabilities in compliance with federal and state regulations. This individual will collaborate with administrators, educators, families, and community stakeholders to ensure that all students with disabilities receive high-quality, individualized instruction and support services in full compliance with federal and state regulations. The position may also include oversight of additional administrative areas as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. Qualifications:Valid NYS SDL certification and NYS certification in special educationStrong communication, problem-solving, human relations, and conflict resolution skillsExperience developing and managing special education programs for students with diverse needsIn-depth knowledge of state and federal special education lawsKey Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Develop, implement, and assess special education programs to ensure all students receive high-quality instruction in the least restrictive environment.Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the district’s special education programs.Supervise and support special education personnel.Oversee the referral process and the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring alignment with district policies and legal mandates.Utilize data analysis to assess program effectiveness, inform decision-making, and adjust special education services as needed.Stay informed on current research, trends, and best practices in special education and apply findings to enhance district programs and services.Manage and monitor special education budgets, staffing, and resources to support both short- and long-term district goals effectively.Attend and present at Board of Education meetings and other district events as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Board of EducationHandle requests for Home Schooling and monitor the compliance and progress of students who are home schooled To apply, please submit letter of interest, resume, and copy of certification by December 11, 2025 to:Jaclyn Guidice, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources jguidice@levittownschools.com
