The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a Food Service Worker to join our team.Duties and Responsibilities:Make and serve nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner. You will be responsible for processing transactions, balancing cash, and providing the best-of-the-best in customer service. on the basis of student and school needs in making academic and career plans. Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash.Greet and assist students while anticipating their needs.Prepares and serves food according to menus and in correct portion sizes as mandated by yield guides.Performs cleaning duties, including cleaning of equipment and work areas, dishwashing and pot washing.Brews coffee, fills beverage machines, sets up hot and/or cold food area.Delivers, when necessary, food to staff, students and catering events. Complies with all State, Federal, local health department requirements for safe food handling.Checks and stores incoming supplies.Follows assigned break schedules. Work Hours:9:30AM-2:00PM or 9:00AM-2:00PMQualifications:Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.Always present a positive and professional image.Be standing on feet majority of the workday in addition to walking back and forth. Lift/bend and/or move up to 20 pounds as necessary.Basic math and counting skills.Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.Training and Education:High school graduate or equivalent.Salary:Hourly rate: $17.56 - $19.52 depending on experience.Posting Deadline:Ongoing
