The Locust Valley Central School District is looking for a Long Term Substitute School Counselor to join our team in guiding and supporting our students in their academic journey and career plans. Duties and Responsibilities:Counsel individual students and/or in small groups on the basis of student and school needs in making academic and career plans. Promote positive and supportive school culture and climate. Collaborate and communicate regularly with teachers, administrators and parents to help students succeed.Coordinate and organize meetings with parents as needed.Discuss student programs and any academic recommendations in partnership with teachers, parents and administration. Updates and maintains detailed student records as required.Work Hours and Benefits:This position is a long term position in our High School with an anticipated start date of Sep 3, 2024 through Oct 25, 2025. There are no benefits. Interested candidates must provide 2 professional references.Qualifications:Dedicated, ambitious and committed to students' success.
