Executive Director of Administrative ServicesThe Locust Valley CSD is seeking a highly innovative Executive Director of Administrative Services. This full-time, 12 month Central Office position will report directly to the Superintendent of Schools. Candidates must possess a School District Leader (SDL) certification. Professional background preferred in Business Management, Finance or Marketing, or MBA. Demonstrated ability to produce and edit high-quality writing, possesses a team-player mentality, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skillsDuties for this position include, but are not limited to: Oversee operations and administrative office personnel productivity, building a positive culture that ensures each team member can meet the organization’s goals Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement and reorganization. Implement strategies and plans that align the short- and long-term objectives in tandem with the Superintendent. In coordination with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents, set compensation policy and determine/approve compensation levels for new and existing staff. Advise school leadership on staff disciplinary and performance issues and conduct meetings with affected employees. Determine appropriate levels of remediation/discipline and manage processes in cooperation with school leaders. As Title IX/EO Coordinator, ensure that the company and its schools/business lines are in compliance with all applicable equal opportunity laws and regulations. Conduct investigations of complaints by staff and students, and determine resolution of complaints in cooperation with leadership. Supervise and provide direction and supervision to the Senior Personnel Clerk and Personnel Clerk. Advise leadership in certification issues and work with staff and State to resolve certification deficiencies. Update employee handbook and related written policies. Communicate changes in policy to employees. Advise staff on leave options and approve all leaves of absence in compliance with applicable law. Ensure compliance with wage and hour requirements, workers compensation, unemployment, and other employment laws and regulations. Assist the Superintendent of Schools in responsibility for budget development and long-range planning. Oversee student transportation procedures. Oversee the school lunch program in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent of Business Affairs and Human Resources. Supervises Information Technology Assistant and works closely with the Director of Facilities regarding security matters related to technology. Assist the Superintendent and negotiating attorney in providing necessary statistical data and financial information necessary for successful contractual negotiations. Prepare monthly and annual reports for the superintendent as directed. Assume responsibility for insurance records and insurance accounting. Participate in the development and implementation of district-wide policies and procedures; Create and supervise data-driven, technology action plans across content areas; in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Instructional Personnel. Oversight of Personnel processes including strategy, posting, recruiting, vetting, negotiating, hiring, onboarding, off boarding, probation management, all related timelines and recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools. Oversee timelines and deadlines related to contractual obligations with each bargaining unit; Manage MyLearningPlan for graduate credit and teacher movement along the salary schedule in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Instructional Personnel. Participate, and/or represent the Superintendents, as necessary, in formal personnel meetings with staff district-wide. Manage District’s APPR recording and reporting process in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Prepare written and/or oral presentations and responses as necessary for all school matters; Manage-up any matters that require support or special attention from the Superintendent of Schools.
