The Locust Valley Central School District is seeking a highly qualified leader to join our outstanding staff as the Principal of Locust Valley Middle School. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to provide visionary and collaborative leadership, meaningful professional development and highly effective supervision for all levels of instruction.CANDIDATES MUST:have at least 3 years’ experience as a successful building administrator;relate well with children and demonstrate a commitment to the social-emotional, physical and academic growth of children; communicate exemplarily and forge strong relationships with all members of the school community;provide professional development and resources to all staff;assist in creating a K-12 continuum and to cultivate interdisciplinary connectionsdevelop instructional and building priorities that are aligned to district-wide goals;use data and research to inform instruction and monitor programmatic shifts;demonstrate experience in leadership positions that have enabled him/her to influence others to work collaboratively and to promote innovation and risk-taking;create learning and assessment that is relevant and connects student understandings to the real-world;use technology to advance teaching and learning and enable students and staff to participate in the global community;partner with central administration, principals, directors and coordinators to align initiatives and instructional priorities;demonstrate experience in developing, overseeing and reviewing budgets;monitor and address student lateness and absenceREQUIREMENTS:NYS Certification: School Building Leader (SBL) OR School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) SALARY: According to contract between District and Administrators Unit
